The Top Virtual Tours in Kuala Lumpur
We put together this list of the top virtual tour companies in Malaysia based on the following things:
1. LokaLocal’s Virtual Visit to Kampung Baru
Criteria | Rating |
Number of participants | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Duration | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Immersion | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Lokalocal’s Virtual Visit to Kampung Baru is a virtual tour conducted on Zoom. The tour is led by Fuad who speaks both English and Malay.
Kampung Baru is Fuad’s hometown so he’s able to really make you feel at home and get to know the area.
It costs RM 39 per head and the tour lasts for an hour. You’ll be visiting Sekolah Agama Kampung Baru, Kampung Baru Mosque, Chow Kit Market, and the Tatt Khalsa Diwan Gurdwara Sikh Temple.
Each tour has a capacity of 1 – 6 travelers. We like that they keep the number of people on a tour pretty small because this makes it easier to really immerse yourself in the tour and ask all the questions you want.
If you wish to have more people accommodated on your tour, you can send a quick message on the website and make arrangements for this to happen. Also make sure to ask about their cancellation policy because, sadly, they don’t mention this on their website.
To book this tour for you and your loved ones, click here. Be sure to book at least one day in advance!
If you have a specific date in mind and you don’t see an availability on the website, you can also reach out to Fuad and he’ll try to help you out.

Delight to have as a guide, great insights
“Fuad was a delight to have as a guide to learn more about .mpung Baru. Although I have been to KL, the stories that Fuad shared and the meanings behind the different structures found in the area provided me with greater insight to the history and lives of the people who lived in this area specifically. Bummed that I am not able to taste the many food and dessert recommendations by Fuad but once travel restrictions has eased I am convinced !should go there and ‘,them myself, Thank you for the sharing and the walkabout made me feel that I was there too enjoying the sights, :)” –Nur

Good experience, enjoyable, highly recommended
“I joined the Old Kuala Lumpur: Chinatown Cultural Walk on 27 June 2021 and it was such a good experience. I realised that there’s much I didn’t know about Kuala Lumpur despite having lived in the Klang Valley all my life. The tour guides, Ms. Jane Rai and Mr. Stevie Chan, made everything enjoyable and were very patient in entertaining our enquiries. I highly recommend this tour. Going on a virtual tour is a unique experience that everyone should try at least once, especially at a time like now.” –Nadhirah
Knowledgeable tour guides, enlightening, definitely recommended
“I attended the virtual tour of Chinatown and I was so happy that I did. Jane was extremely knowledgeable on the history of Chinatown, I was pleasantly surprised with all that I learned. I would have never known the history in such detail if I hadn’t attended her virtual tour. Being a Malaysian citizen my whole life, I was surprised that I didn’t know a lot at all before the tour. Thank you Jane for the enlightenment. I would definitely recommend this tour to everyone. Citizens and tourists included.” – Softia

The Explore Malaysia Virtually 360 Sin Sze Si Ya Temple Tour is a tour conducted live from this taoist temple in Kuala Lumpur.
The reason why this is such a cultural landmark is because this temple is the oldest Taoist temple in all of Malaysia.
During this tour, you’ll learn all about the temples which we think are already pretty cool in and of themselves. This is why we like it more knowing that you’ll also be learning about all the various rituals performed by devotees.
You’ll also be taught about the various deities worshiped in the Taoist community. The goal of this tour is to help you have a better understanding of the Taoist devotees’ common practices.
This tour lasts around an hour and accommodates 1-10 participants per Zoom session. We think this is a pretty decent tour size for a virtual tour.

Immersion | ★★★☆☆ (3/5) |
Now, we have something a bit different on our hands here. We have the Artemis Art’s MONOCHROME.
Artemis Art is known for being a small, cosmopolitan art gallery in Kuala Lumpur. This exhibit, MONOCHROME, was done in partnership with the Jakarta-based art gallery, Art Serpong Gallery.
It was put online for people to enjoy virtually so they could still display the amazing works of art of the participating artists despite the current situation. It’s been up for about a year now and hundreds of people have visited the website to admire these.
This tour can be done here completely free of charge. You can also go around as many times as you want and for as long as you want because there’s no time limit.
You can either use their guided tour or manually go through the tour alone. We highly encourage you to use a desktop browser or the Artsteps mobile app for this tour because it may be a bit harder to maneuver on your mobile browser.

6. 360stories’ Kuala Lumpur Cultural & Heritage Tour
Criteria | Rating |
Number of participants | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Duration | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |

360stories’ Kuala Lumpur Cultural & Heritage Tour is a 45-minute virtual tour that takes you around the Kuala Lumpur City Gallery, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, the National Palace, and National Textile Museum.
It has a maximum capacity of 20 participants and is conducted over Zoom. Sadly, they only cater to English speakers for now.
It seems like a pretty straightforward tour of the most visited places in Kuala Lumpur so it’s a good tour to attend if you want to see these places. However, it costs around RM 68 per person which is a bit steep in our opinion.
To book a tour, you can go here. You’ll also notice that you can book a custom tour for just you and your loved ones.

Batu Caves is one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Malaysia and fortunately, thanks to 360stories, you can visit it virtually. This is through their Batu Caves Virtual Tour, which costs RM 64 per person.
The tour lasts a short 15 minutes but, in those 15 minutes, you get to explore the entire cave with a guide which we think is very important. The guide will show you the Lord Murugan Statue and the Hindu shrines which are what make the cave so popular.
You’ll also learn all about the interesting history of the area. Take note that this tour only caters to English speakers at the moment.
Each tour can accommodate up to 20 people. You can set a schedule for your tour here.
Now, considering how much it costs, we really do think that the tour is a bit pricier than needed but this must be to pay for the expertise of the tour guide above all.
