4 Exciting Parks to Visit around the Klang Valley

A little sun, a little exercise, and a little socialising are often better than staying indoors week after week, especially for those who work at home.

Even if it’s just to run an errand, buy your groceries, take a sip of coffee, or walk your dog at the park for 30 to 45 minutes, it would be great for your mind, body, and soul.

And in case you’re wondering which park to visit around the Klang Valley, we’ve taken the time to put together a few fun suggestions for you here.

1) Perdana Botanical Gardens

Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the Perdana Botanical Gardens is a huge recreational park with lots of things to do—strolling, running, cycling, relaxing, and picnicking.

Lovely balustraded bridges over dark green waters, shaded areas with seats, and lush, dreamy foliage are amongst the landscapes you’ll find here.

We recommend seeing and capturing the quaint boathouse and walking along the peaceful river as well as visiting the comely Sunken Garden and Hibiscus Garden.

2) Shah Alam Lake Gardens

If you want to embrace a more active, thrilling lifestyle, then you may want to come to the stunning Shah Alam Lake Gardens in Selangor.

The sprawling place is surrounded by three artificial lakes (Central, East, and West Lakes). It’s fun to go around them through their various walkways.

Furthermore, you can rent a yellow boat or kayak or even zip line around the majestic lakes. Also, there is a large and special playground for children to frolic and make new friends in.

3) The Central Park

This Kuala Lumpur park is an exerciser’s dream. It has many paved walking paths and an outdoor coloured aerobics space with a backdrop of wonderful trees, rocks, and plants.

You can take in the fresh air while giving your body a much-needed workout. Plus, being a pet-friendly space, this is a great park to take your dog or cat for a run or a chill playdate.

Everyone can visit Central Park in Desa ParkCity, whether you are going on a date, a local, or a tourist. You can come here every day if you want, and you won’t have to pay any admission fee at all!

4) Taman Tugu

Want a respite from the hustle and bustle of daily city life? In that case, you can visit the serene 66-acre city forest in Taman Tugu, Kuala Lumpur.

With its beautiful trails, you can hike or cycle all your way around the place while enjoying the forest air, spotting indigenous tree species, and getting some exercise.

Here, you can encounter the colossal Pulai tree measuring up to 40 metres and has been in this spot for over 90 years. It’s the subject of Instagram pictures for those who visited the park.

Aside from being an urban oasis, did you know that Taman Tugu has a historical significance too? In the 1960s, it was the site of the homes and work quarters of Malaysian government officials and the British.
