Sojuk Riverside Campsite

Everything You Need to Know about Sojuk Riverside in Selangor

Welcome to Sojuk Riverside in Selangor

For years, I’ve set out time and time again, trying to find some of Malaysia’s best camping sites that offered equal parts adventure and tranquillity. There have been several candidates throughout my search, but I think I stumbled upon THE best one, Sojuk Riverside.

Nestled in the lush greenery near Genting Highlands, Sojuk Riverside was a former fruit orchard and now a campground able to house families and friend groups. It’s equipped with all the bells and whistles one may need for a comfortable camping experience.

With that being said, it’s not easy to plan a perfect trip to this riverside campground, which is why I’ve decided to create this guide. This guide is the culmination of the many visits my friends and I have made to this site to help you and your loved ones plan the perfect camping trip.

Let’s get started!

Things to Do

Cool down by the river

For many campers (us included), the main reason why they choose Sojuk Riverside as their camping grounds is because of the river. It’s cool and shallow, and the currents aren’t as strong most of the time, making it suitable for leisurely swimming for people of all ages!

Of course, you don’t have to dip into the water if you don’t want to! You can relax by the river too and bask in the cool weather as you immerse yourself in the surrounding natural landscapes.

Hold a BBQ night

You can also make the most out of the grill provided for free by the camping grounds to hold your very own BBQ night with your friends and family! This way, you won’t have to spend your money on expensive takeout and pre plan your meal from your home.

All you have to do is marinate your meat at home, place them in a cooler so they don’t go bad, and you’re golden!

Also, the conversations held during this feast will be some of the most memorable moments you can have during your trip!

Pitch your own tent

One thing I love about Sojuk Riverside is that it offers an authentic camping experience, complete with all its challenges. One of the most challenging yet super rewarding things you’ll do here is pitching your own tent.

There’s something therapeutic yet sometimes frustrating about building your temporary shelter for the night. There will be some screaming among you and your group, but it’s all part of the fun.

Explore the nature trails

It wouldn’t be a complete camping trip in Sojuk Riverside without exploring some of its neighbouring trails. These trails are mostly short nature walks so you don’t have to worry about climbing, slipping or getting lost, though we still recommend going in groups.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t have any prior hiking experience, these trails are just there to give you a place of solitude and a chance to reconnect with nature.
