Selangor’s 5 Restaurants with the Best Private Rooms

Ambiance and Privacy - We prioritized establishments that offered not just a door between you and the rest of the patrons but a distinct atmosphere that elevates the dining experience.

Culinary Excellence - We sifted through menus and reviews, spotlighting those with high-quality ingredients, innovative dishes, and rave reviews from both critics and the community alike.

Service and Hospitality - We looked for restaurants where staff demonstrated professionalism, attention to detail, and a sincere commitment to making each meal memorable.

Cost and Value - We sought out spots offering real value, but this didn't necessarily mean cheap. Transparency in pricing and flexible packages were also factors that weighed in favor during our selection process.

Accessibility and Convenience - We favored restaurants situated in central locations or those easily reachable via major transportation links.

Ever tried to have a heart-to-heart in a packed restaurant where the guy next to you seems more interested in your conversation than his date? Yep, been there.

Once, trying to plot a surprise party over dinner, I might as well have sent out a press release with the amount of eavesdropping happening (total bummer!).

So, if you don’t want that happening to you too (of course, I know you don’t! ), then check out our list of Selangor’s restaurants with private rooms, which we’ve reviewed for you, BTW.

How much does a private dining area cost in Selangor?

In Selangor, renting a private dining area can generally cost between RM1000 and RM3000, depending on various factors.

This price range typically accounts for the room’s location, size, amenities included, and capacity for guests.

So we checked out Bunglow 37 in Bangsar, and honestly, there’s a lot to like about their private dining setup. First off, the ambiance is really cozy and exclusive, which is a huge plus for anyone looking to host a private event.

We were pretty impressed with the food and the presentation—definitely what you’d expect from a high-end spot.

But what caught our attention the most is their service, which is just so on point. The staff knows exactly when to pop by your table and when to give you some space.

On the downside, parking can be a bit of a headache, and it’s not ideal if you’re coming in a group.

And just to give you the full lowdown, while the prices lean towards the higher side, considering the whole private room experience and the top-tier menu, we really think you’re getting your money’s worth.

Nonetheless, most of us think that the overall vibe and quality at Bunglow 37 make it worth a visit. If you can snag a reservation and don’t mind a bit of a squeeze, it’s got our thumbs up for sure.

Pros

  • Cozy, exclusive ambiance
  • Great food and great staff
  • Personalized, timely service

Cons

  • Limited parking availability
  • Space can feel cramped at full capacity
  • Higher price point

Exceptional service meets culinary delight

“It was my first time at Bungalow 37. I choose it based on the recommendation of a friend. The ambience is rustic and has the colonial feel. The food was excellent. The lamb cutlet starter was tender, succulent and flavourful. The beef tenderloin was tender and juicy. The chocolate cremeux is s must for chocolate lovers. The service was superb, which added to the whole experience. The Captain, TC, was a joy. He truly knows what amazing service is. The staff on the whole were polite, friendly and attentive.”

When we checked out Uovo Asador, we were seriously impressed with their private dining rooms. The place just has that cool vibe that makes you want to hang out all day, and the privacy aspect is top-notch.

It’s perfect for intimate gatherings or even a business meeting where you want to impress without the noise around you. We were thrilled by the dishes that we had, like the premium Wagyu, salmon, and French-cut lamb.

We were particularly happy with the attentive service too; we felt like the staff really cared about our experience. On the flip side, though, the prices can make you think twice since they’re definitely on the pricey end.

And although the place is top-tier, the menu options are somewhat limited if you’re into a wider variety. Furthermore, those previous clients we’ve chatted with had a problem with the parking, saying it could be a bit of a hassle, especially during peak hours.

Despite those downsides, the overall experience keeps bringing them back (and us as well!).

Pros

  • Unique, cozy ambiance
  • Privacy is on point
  • Great food
  • Attentive staff

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Limited dishes
  • Parking can be difficult

Innovative and accommodating culinary fusion

“A restaurant with a very interesting concept utilising kitchen resources from it’s various sister restaurants to curate customised menus for its patrons. This encompasses various cuisines ranging from French to Thai to Chinese.

My friend was specifically looking for a gluten free course and they were happy to accommodate despite the last minute reservation. The food served was a Chinese and Japanese fusion and tasted absolutely delicious despite having to make substitutions to their usual preparation.

My favourites were the halibut, perfectly cooked with glistening flesh and crispy skin, paired with a wonderfully umami dashi broth; and the beef main, charbroiled to a perfect tenderness and juiciness.”

We were stoked about the private rooms The Wagyu Tavern got—the perfect spot for those nights when you just want to chill with your crew without the whole world peeping into your convo. What really grabbed us, though, were the dishes.

Wagyu – it’s in their name and they nailed it! Beyond the great food, though, their service is top-notch.

From our experience, the staff makes you feel like you’re the only table they’re serving without being too in your face.

Previous clients even agreed with us on this. Now, onto the nitty-gritty: while we were head over heels for their food and ambiance, our wallets felt the pinch. Not gonna lie, the prices are steep.

A couple of us were scratching our heads at the bill, but then again, you do pay for quality, right? And parking around Damansara Utama can be a bit of a headache, but hey, minor details.

Despite the dent in our wallets and the potential parking treasure hunt, The Wagyu Tavern’s quality and experience keep us positive about the splurge. It’s one of those places you save up for a special night out, and it never fails to impress.

Pros

  • Vibrant, private rooms
  • High-quality Wagyu dishes
  • Top-notch service
  • Perfect for special gatherings

Cons

  • High prices
  • Potentially difficult parking

Great meat feast with luxury touches

“This is the place to eat quality meat for a reasonable price. We chose the all you can eat 8 kinds of meat with unlimited uni (sea urchin) and caviar. The meat was amazing and the uni was delicious. You also get a tray of seafood and vegetables.

The VIP room is quite nice and they even provide a karaoke machine. The service was good. They’re fast at refilling the meat/uni and they’re also friendly.

Overall, it was a nice experience. I’d recommend for you to try it.”

Top-notch service and privacy

“Hello Kitty had given us such a great service in attending to all our needs, Danny the manager himself came to toast some beers as well.

Overall we had such a great time, it’s nothing less of the best night we had in our trip to KL.

We had booked a room instead of a table and it’s the best decision we had made on our trip to here, though not to say that the table option is bad but the room had more privacy and a karaoke system in exchange for a higher booking price.

WILL RECOMMEND👍👍👍”

Diao Yu Tai Hotpot has been a revelation for us, especially when it comes to finding that dining experience with both quality food and privacy.

What we really dug was their array of private rooms—perfect for when you want that exclusivity or have a big gathering but still want to keep things cozy.

The hotpot variety here is stellar, and we were all nodding in agreement over the broths and the quality of meats and veggies. And we’ve got to mention the service, which did not disappoint either.

Attentive without being overwhelming, and the staff knows their menu inside out since the recommendations were spot on. Now, while diving into that divine hotpot, keep in mind that your wallet’s going to feel it.

And while we’re all for splurging on good food, it does make us think twice about making it a regular haunt.

Another little nudge: it can be a bit hard to snag a reservation, especially for those private rooms. They’re in high demand, so planning ahead is key for a hassle-free time.

Pros

  • Great variety of private rooms
  • High-quality ingredients for hotpot
  • Stellar service; prompt and friendly
  • Ideal for special occasions

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Hard to book private rooms (high demand)

What really grabs us with Savage is the ambiance and vibe of their private rooms. It’s like they’ve nailed the perfect setting for those intimate gatherings or those corporate meets where you’d rather not shout over the crowd.

We were absolutely thrilled with the level of service, too, with the super attentive staff, which is a fine line to walk! Now, I have to mention the menu: eclectic and absolutely drool-worthy.

Everyone in our group found something they loved, and we’re all pretty picky eaters. What left us even happier was the quality of the food, which had us planning our next visit before we even left!

But let’s keep it real; the prices had us doing a double-take. It’s not what you’d call budget-friendly, but then again, for the experience, we begrudgingly admit it might just be worth it.

The only other hiccup might be the parking, which can be a bit of a pain, especially during peak hours.

Despite that, we’re keeping our thumbs up because the whole experience is unique. Most of us reckon it’s a spot you’d want to keep coming back to, budget-allowing, of course.

Pros

  • Private rooms with great ambiance
  • Attentive service
  • Diverse menu options

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Parking can be challenging
