Buldojang is an all-time favourite of mine just because it perfectly combines bold flavours with generous proportions. We also appreciate how they put a spin on some of the Korean dishes by combining them with Chinese influences—simply irresistible!

You can’t go wrong with any of their dishes, especially their best-seller, jajangmyeon, which is a thick, savoury black bean sauce served over noodles. They also serve a mean version of the classic sweet and sour pork, which is just lip-smackingly good!

Meanwhile, if you’re looking to treat yourself to seafood, the best course of action is to order one of their fried shrimp meals! You can either have them coated with garlic, chilli or cream sauce, all of which are absolute bangers.

Pro tip:

If you’re looking for something that will make you break a sweat, we recommend ordering their seafood jjambong. It’s a spicy noodle seafood soup that consists of clams, octopus and more!

Kung Jung is one of those restaurants that will make you feel like you’ve been transported to one of Seoul’s bustling foodie spots. It’s no surprise as to how they achieve this too, as it’s run by a Korean family, who by the way have been managing this place for over 20 years!

You can indulge in tons of Korean cuisine classics here, most notably their bulgogi, which are thin marinated pieces of beef that pair perfectly with their kimchi rice! Speaking of kimchi, we also recommend trying their fiery kimchi jjigae, a spicy stew.

They also have a solid selection of side dishes that pair perfectly with freshly grilled meat such as lettuce, mushrooms and carrots!

Pro tip:

The most convenient way to get to Kung Jung by commuting is to ride the train and drop off at the Ampang Park Metro Station. From there, you can simply descend the station and walk towards the restaurant.

Han Modern Korean Grill is one of the hottest KBBQ spots in the Golden Triangle, and honestly, it’s our favourite one—for several good reasons. For starters, they feature premium quality cuts of beef that will melt in your mouth once they’re perfectly charred.

The different types of meat you can cook on your very own charcoal grill range anywhere from prime short ribs to beef belly and more! If you’re feeling exotic, we recommend ordering their beef tongue, which isn’t as bad as it sounds!

They also feature amazing Wagyu steaks hailing straight from Japan and Australia, both of which feature amazing marbling—we’re salivating just thinking about it!

Pro tip:

You can also order their lamb, smoked duck breast or tiger prawns if you’re not a huge fan of beef!

If you’re looking for Korea’s signature cold noodles, then Lee Ga Korean Noodles Restaurant should be on your must-visit list in Klang. Whether you’re a noodle enthusiast or you’re hearing about this dish for the first time, this place will set you right with its delicious offerings.

Known in Korea as naengmyeon, these noodles are often eaten by locals to cool down, which is a huge far cry from the hot and spicy noodles that other countries are known for. The chewy noodles are accompanied by flavourful broth and topped with various fresh ingredients.

These ingredients include sliced cucumbers, kimchi, Korean chilli paste and beef slices. To top it all off, a soft-boiled egg is placed neatly on top of the pile of thin and clear noodles—yum!

Pro tip:

If you’re looking for something to pair with your noodles, we recommend ordering their handmade dumplings!

Gangnam K-BBQ

Gangnam K-BBQ is one of my favourite spots to check out come late afternoon because it’s able to offer an authentic Korean barbeque experience akin to the ones found in Seoul! Plus, we also love how cheap it is considering the variety they offer with their meat and side dishes.

Starting with the meat, we love how they feature different kinds of marinate and cuts of meat, allowing for a more personalised dining experience. You can also choose to order either beef, pork or lamb!

Of course, it wouldn’t be a complete experience without some solid side dishes, and thankfully, Gangnam delivers! We most especially love their kimchi because it doesn’t feature that weird sweet flavour that other variations from different restaurants usually have.

Pro tip:

Make sure to order their famous mac and cheese if you’re coming with kids! It’s super cheesy and even the pickiest eaters will love it.

If you’re like me and you have a deep love for fried chicken, then KyoChon should be on your radar! It’s home to the best Korean fried chicken in town, which in my opinion is a thousand times better than what you’d typically get in a Western restaurant.

One of the things that made us fall in love with KyoChon is the selection of flavours they offer, all of which perfectly coat their crunchy fried chicken. Whether you’re looking for something sweet, spicy, smokey or anything in between, you can expect to find them here!

You can also pair your lip-smacking fried chicken with one of their side dishes such as potato wedges and rice. There’s no wrong choice but our favourite combo has got to be soy garlic chicken paired with kimchi fried rice!

Pro tip:

You can sign up for their Kyochingu membership online to unlock exclusive perks such as birthday vouchers, exclusive deals, points, rewards and more!

Mr Dakgalbi @ AEON

Operating hours: Daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM

Mr Dakgalbi is perfect for diners who love spicy food because it features an overloaded amount of gochujang, Korea’s famous red chilli paste. They incorporate this paste into their specialty dish, dakgalbi, and let me tell you, you’ll be sweating bullets the whole time you’re eating here!

If you don’t know dakgalbi features a combination of chicken, vegetables and gochujang, creating a unique mix of textures and flavours. If that’s not enough variety for your tastebuds, you can also pair their dakgalbi with a side of cheesy rice!

Pro tip:

If you’re visiting with kids, we recommend stopping by the TGV Cinema while you’re here! It features one of the coolest kid-friendly theatres in Klang (kids cinema), complete with a separate play area and a whole animal-themed room!
