Atmosphere is an important factor to consider when looking for a glamping spot, and one site that nails it down is Resort Taman Eko Rimba Komanwel. Here, you’ll get to stay amidst a lush forest, a peaceful lake and a beautiful garden—talk about being a complete package!

As for the tent itself, we think that it’s a great mix of traditional and luxurious camping since you’ll be staying in classic tents as opposed to glamorous ones.

Where the term “glamping” comes into play here is with the facilities, which are up to par with the ones you’ll find in hotels. These facilities include clean bathrooms, breakfast buffets and more.

Pro tip:

  • If we were to recommend this glamping spot to someone, it would be adventure-seekers. This is because the lush forest opens up tons of possibilities for treks and hikes of different difficulties from beginner to advanced.
  • If you want to sleep in a more comfortable area than a tent or if you have elders with you, we recommend staying at one of the site’s cottages. These are more accessible if you will, featuring full beds and hotel-like amenities.

It’s one of those places where you can just relax and be at one with nature while being treated to modern facilities. These facilities include comfortable and clean restrooms, a clubhouse and grills that are perfect for barbecue nights with your friends and family!

Address: Lot 2121, Jalan Ulu Tamu, Kampung Orang Asli Gurney, Batang Kali, Malaysia

Contact details: booking@dusunbonda.com

Operating hours: Open 24 hours

Dusun Bonda sits between being a glamping spot and a full-on resort, but for this list, we’re going to look at it as the former. This is why we want to highlight the campsite’s amazing premium tents, which puts hotel rooms to shame, with their space and complete amenities.

We have a feeling that you’ll be spending a lot of time outside these tents, however, as the site comes with a massive pool. If that’s not enough, there’s also a man made waterfall where you can cool down under the hot tropical weather of Selangor.

The setting of this site is worth highlighting as well, as it sits in the middle of a wonderful fruit orchard, which you can freely take Insta-worthy photos of.

Pro tip:

  • Consider staying here if you have kids with you! There’s a playground on the premises as well as a DIY swing that hangs above the river—pretty neat!
  • When booking a stay here, consider checking their add-ons section online to customise your experience. You can add things to your stay like food, a barbeque pit, a portable air conditioner and more.

Skycamp By Skytrex is a glamping site that we recommend for thrillseekers because of the different exciting activities it offers. This is thanks to its convenient location next to Skytrex where you can enjoy ziplining, trekking, river paddling and more.

Activities aside, however, you’re still looking at a great glamping site that doesn’t fall short on facilities. For starters, the tents themselves are quite spacious and each one is fitted with comfy inflatable beds as well as fans.

As for the facilities, they have everything from toilets to showers, kitchen and more. Our favourite thing about this place, however, is its campfire where you and your loved ones can gather around and tell spooky stories or jam out to your favourite tunes.

Pro tip:

  • As much as possible, we recommend opting for their combo package (RM129), as it’s only RM39 higher than the single package (RM89). This already comes with the Skytrex experience on top of the basic camping package—what a steal!

If you’re planning on visiting Batu Caves (which you definitely should!), we recommend staying at a nearby glamping site called The Hid3out. This amazing little spot is full of charm, with its simple tents, campfires and of course, beautiful natural surroundings.

Speaking of tents, the ones found here aren’t lavish, but they’re more than enough to keep you and your loved ones comfortable. Aside from being spacious, these tents are equipped with soft beds, which will make you feel like you’re sleeping on clouds!

Lastly, there’s also a small triangular swimming pool where your kids can take a dip and splash around.

The Sticks is one of the best nature retreat spots in Selangor as it takes you far from the hustle and bustle of city life and places you in the middle of a dense jungle. Here, you’ll get to clear your mind and focus on nature while staying in a decked-out tent with modern facilities.

This glamping spot is widely known for its sustainability, as it gets its water supply from a nearby stream and its electricity through solar panels. This is why you’ll get to access a full range of electric/water appliances in your cabin like ceiling fans, lights and of course, toilet and showers.

You can also engage in various fun activities while you’re here like jungle trekking, paragliding and water rafting—sweet!

Pro tip:

  • If you’re looking for something to do with your family, there are tons of board games you can borrow on the glamping site.
  • Meanwhile, if you want to take advantage of the nearby river, you can go tubing and enjoy a relaxing cruise through the rapids.

Alpine Camp

Address: Jalan Kg. Orang Asli Paya Lebar, Batu 23, 43100 Hulu Langat, Selangor, Malaysia

Contact details: +60 11-1911 5262

Operating hours: Open 24/7

Alpine Camp is one of the simplest glamping spots in Selangor, and we mean that in the best possible way. Here, you’ll get to stay in one of their five glamping tents, each of which is spacious enough to fit up to four people.

The highlight here as with most glamping spots, however, is the setting. You’d think that being this close to the city would ruin the atmosphere, but it’s quite the opposite, as you’ll still be surrounded by beautiful sights.

These sights include towering trees, the Lui River and Gunung Hitam, also known as the Black Mountain.

Pro tip:

  • If the heat is starting to get the best of you, we recommend making your way to the nearby river. It’s shallow enough for kids to enjoy and it can cool you down in a matter of seconds!

Camp Out!

Website: https://sunwaylagoon.com/camp-out/

Address: 3, Jalan PJS 11/11, Bandar Sunway, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia

Contact details: +603 5622 1937

Operating hours: Wednesday to Monday: 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM

It’s sort of controversial to put Camp Out! on this list since it’s located in a theme park, but it’s just too good to be left out. Sunway Lagoon claims that it’s the “best stay ever” and it’s not hard to see why because of how accessible the theme park is from this glamping spot.

The tents here aren’t too shabby as well and you are getting all the facilities you need. Plus, you’ll get to look up at the starry sky at night while being surrounded by a unique backdrop, which is great if you’re tired of the usual natural landscapes.

Pro tip:

  • Make sure to bring tons of extra clothes if you’re planning on going on different rides, especially the wet ones.
  • Book your stay online to check out the different rates for both the single and twin tents.
