Customer Reviews
Here are some reviews from their previous clients:
“This has been a family favorite since I was young. That is how long they have been around. My dad still remembers the previous owner who has since retired and his son took over the business with his wife.
This is where I got my first pair of glasses and sunglasses, basically when I need to get my eyes checked, I will visit Malays Optical first. One thing is it is convenient though parking might be a hassle but since they open on the weekends, makes it more flexible to come when it is not office hours. The service is really great here and the workers are polite and knowledgeable when it comes to our optics and what type of glases would suit each person’s power levels.
I find them professional and the owner is always around to say Hi plus he is familiar with his craft so he will recommend you the best pair for your eyesight regardless of the price. Optometrists should be likened to doctors where they care about the health of your peepers and want to correct them and here, you do feel the concern and that is valuable in the service business. I have bought many pairs of glasses from them since and the good thing is you can always go back to service your specs at no or low cost depending on what it is whether it is loose screws or broken lenses. However, they do not do any lasic surgery, that would be best done in a hospital.”
“Malaya Optical has been in business since 1957. That is before Malaysia was formed. I was looking for a pair of new glasses and stumble upon this shop on a Sunday afternoon. With such long business experience, you could tell they are different from the rest. The shop is now run by the third generation successor of the Ho family and he’s a professional optometrist. Most eyewear shops would cramp you into this small room to get your eye tested but this shop has got a very nice spacious eye consultation room. They have state of the art eye profile machine that does eye complication checkups even. They service a bunch of celebrities as you can see from the wall of fame pictures that is hanged on the wall. Pricing can range from RM300 all the way to RM2000. They have a good variety of selection and all the staffs are extremely professional.”
